Ally is 3 weeks old!!
This last week has been an adventure. It was the first week where Mommy and Daddy were on there own and it is taking some time to get used to. Ally is still feeding like a champ even more so in the evenings. Sleep deprivation is in full force. On a positive note, she has accomplished some more milestones this week. She attended her first birthday party for her cousin Matthew, went on a mini hike so Bailee could go swimming and is almost fitting into her carseat without any rolled up towels holding her in. I am sure next week will bring more exciting times with our "Little Bear". Stay tuned........

Ally is 1 week old today!
Well these last few days have been a little busy. Ally went to the doctor's on Tuesday for a follow up to check her weight...she gained 1 whole ounce. The doctor did not seem too concerned but we had a meeting with Ms. Whatta FN. Spazz aka "the lactation specialist" and she voiced her concerns. We walked out of there feeling pretty down and felt like we were not doing a good job as new parents. We were told that a good healthy baby should gain a half ounce to an ounce per day. Miss Ally only gained 1 ounce in 3 days. Ms. Spazz scheduled us for a follow up today (Thursday)... Well Miss Ally must have sensed her mommy and daddy's heartbreak from the pretty much one way conversation with Ms. Spazz. Later that evening, Ally started getting antsy. We looked and saw her receiving blanket that she was swaddled in transform into what looked like a pink striped cape. She started feeding at midnight and didn't stop until 3am, up again at 5 and stopped around 6 and continued on and off about every 2 hours for the next 2 days. Mommy and Daddy were so exhausted that we started bottle feeding (breast milk that mommy pumped) in addition to breastfeeding which according to Ms. Spazz and everything else we've read is a no-no for newborns. Mommy and Daddy threw out that advice in hopes to keep their sanity. Fast forward to Thursday morning...We walked into the doctor's office this morning and sat in the waiting room in a nervous silence. We got called into an exam room and took deep breaths while we waited for Ally to get weighed. We could hear Ms. Spazz's shoes clunking (enough to strike fear in a grown man) as she walked behind the closed door to the exams rooms to see other patients. A nurse came and took Ally to get weighed. Miss Ally decided to step up her game...they put her on the scale and not only did she gain the recommended amount of weight which is a half to 1 ounce per day she exceeded it by another half ounce. ALLY GAINED 3 OUNCES IN 2 DAYS. This was a very excited moment for Mommy, Daddy, and Ally. We still haven't seen Ms. Spazz yet so we curbed the celebration and put our game faces back on. Ally decides she is hungry yet again and wants to eat so Mommy takes her and starts feeding her (Ally's cape came out again). Ms. Spazz enters as her loud self and looks at Ally's chart. She starts asking questions about how she is doing and BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! when suddenly she sees that Ally gained 3 ounces in 2 days. Well Ms. Spazz did a 180 and said we were doing an excellent job and for once was at a loss for words...We are scheduled our next appointment late next week. GO ALLY!!!!!!!
Also in the last few days Ally attended her 1st baseball game with Mommy, Daddy, and Auntie Barb. She got to see her cousin Michael play and got to meet her Uncle Paul who was coaching. We also went on our 1st family picnic along the Farmington River in Barkhamsted. Ally hung in the shade with her mommy, while Bailee played fetch and went swimming with Daddy. It was a fun day.
The final update for this post is Ally lost her umbilical cord early yesterday morning!!!!!!!!!! We hope to include some new pictures in the next couple of days... Stay tuned

Ally made it home!!
After a minor bump in the road with her tongue being tied, Ally had a minor procedure and was sent home right on schedule. Despite every effort to dress her in a cute "going home" outfit, she decided she wasn't interested and spit up immediately after getting dressed. I think she has a mind of her own for sure.
She was greeted by a very happy four legged sister. She loved her puppy kisses...
Eating has improved and hopefully she will settle in at home in no time. Mommy and Daddy got a 3 hour nap this afternoon as well and everyone is very happy.
Day 3 = Success and happiness
